PREPOSITIONS

 Prepositions (शब्दयोगी अव्यय) 

Pre म्हणजे पूर्वी किंवा आधी आणि Position म्हणजे जागा .Preposition म्हणजे नाम अथवा सर्वनामापूर्वी वापरला जाणारा रिलेशन दर्शवणारा अव्यय शब्द होय.  होय. (Prepositions are placed before a noun or pronoun to state the relation. 

शब्दयोगी अव्यय वाक्यातील नामाचा/सर्वनामाचा इतर शब्दांशी संबंध स्पष्ट करतात. A Preposition shows in what relation one thing stands to another

thing.

 काही Preposition  , meaning  आणि  use.

1) In - आत मध्ये (स्थिरता) 

My pen is in my pocket. Into- बाहेरून आत.( गतीदर्शक)

A fat girl jumped into the tank. 

2) On वर ( एखादया वस्तूवर स्थिर असलेल्या वस्तूसाठी) विशिष्ट, दिनांक, दिवस, वार यापूर्वी वापरतात. 

My cap is on my head. 

on last day. on 2nd June.

3) over-वर (अंधातरी, स्पर्श नाही, अंतरळी)

The sky is over our head. 

4) From - पासून, कडून, हून, ऊन

Sumit came back from Pune. 

The office is open from 10.00 a.m. to 5. p.m. You need rest from work.

5) At - कडे, वाजता, आत.

 He dropped me at the station.

The class starts at 6.00a.m. 

He is going at school .

Why are you looking at me. 

ठरविलेली वेळ अगर ठराविक स्थान दर्शिविण्यासाठी at चा वापर करतात. 

6) To - स, ला, ते, कडे, च्या आत, च्या दिशेने.

He is going to poona.

They are coming to school. She has gone to market.

7) With - ने, शी, बरोबर, सोबत. 

We are with our teacher

She fell in love with English 

8) Without - च्या शिवाय . 

English is not without preposition.

He always travels without ticket.

Don't enter without permission.

9) Under- खाली 

The cat is under the table.

The situtation is under control. 

The river is flowing under the bridge

10) Between - दोन्हीच्या मध्ये 

The house is between two trees, 

Write between lines. 

11) Near- जवळ 

There is a temple near the hotel. 

Don't go near the car.

12) Among - अनेकांमध्ये

A bird sat among leaves.

A teacher is standing among the students. 

13) Off बंद करणे, करुन, केला, दूर करणे याअर्थी

Keep off the wire.

Take your feet off the chair.

14) Above वर (प्रत्यक्ष संबंध नाही) 

The cat jumped above the pot. 

An inspector is above a sub inspector.

15) Before- अगोदर, पूर्वी 

He came before Geeta. 

Rama was rich, before marriage. 

Before time, I reached to my office.

16) After - नंतर 

Do you know, what happens after death? After marriage he became fat.

17) Behind- पाठीमागे 

My mother is behind my success. 

Our school is behind the post office.

18) During - च्या काळात, मध्ये, दरम्यान, याअर्थी They lived in this city during the winter. During the war, he came back to home.

19) of - चा, ची, चे, पैकी,  (षष्टी, विभक्ती)

Who is the C.M. of Maharashtra.

Thousands of people attended the meeting.

20) By - ने, शी, जवळ, जवळून, कडून. 

 Pravin  went by train.

I am teacher by profession. 

I have to get back by 3 'o' clock.

Will you sit by me? 

21) For-  साठी , करीता

All these books are for sale. 

For what have you come here? 

V for victory. 

I will vote for you. 

22) Across - ओलांडून, पलीकडे

A new bridge is being built across the river.

Can you swim across this river? 

23) Up वर (वर जाण्याच्या क्रियेसाठी) 

An Aeroplane is going up in the sky. 

Can you climb up this tree.

24) Till/Until - पर्यँत 

Stop here till/until I return.

He was fighting with enemy till/until his death. 

25) Through - मधून पलीकडे जाणे.(गतीदर्शक)

We went through the forest. 

The same picture is running through my head.

26) Towards-  च्याकडे, च्यादिशेने

They were running towards the school. 

She leaned towards her father's feet.

27) Below-खाली. (प्रत्यक्ष स्पर्श नाही. खालच्या बाजूला )

Yours name is below my name. 

The temperature is below 20 c today. 

28) Down -खाली (खालच्या दिशेने गती या  अर्थाने वापरतात.)

He fell down.

Sit down,

The down train is at 5.30. am.

29) Within -  च्या आत (वेळ)

Be present within five minutes. 

He will come here within an hour.

30) Upon वर (अर्धवटस्पर्शी)

 I have come here upon his request.

  It depends upon you.

31) About -  च्या विषयी, संबंधी, सुमारे

 Don't worry about Rama. 

 She is about 6 feet tall.

He reached at about 7 'o' clock.

32) Around -  भोवती, सभोवती, जवळपास याअर्थी She is around thirty.

The earth moves around the sun. 

The path leads around it.

People gathered around photographer.

32) Out of - बाहेर 

Rama is out of village until 1st June.

Sunil  went out of India.

33) Via- मार्गे 

This bus goes to Pune via Satara. 

I came to know about this via my teacher.

This disease spreads via physical contact. These stamp-papers printed via Government.

अशाप्रकारे शब्दयोगी अव्ययाचा अर्थ लक्षात ठेवून त्याचा वाक्यात योग्य ठिकाणी वापर करावा. विद्यार्थ्यांनी अधिक सर्व करावा. .....
